DIAMONDS

 

All Izzy Atelier Diamonds are conflict-free and are purchased from accredited Diamond suppliers whom we have relationships with. We take care to source the highest quality diamonds for all Izzy Atelier pieces.

Diamonds used in our non-custom pieces are all D-G or above in color, placing them in the Rare White color scale and have VS or higher clarity. Each Diamond is specifically selected for color, clarity and cut by a trained Diamond specialist.

All Clear Diamonds 0.5ct and above will come with a certificate, an internationally recognized Diamond grading report which identifies your Diamond's carat weight, measurements, cut, color and clarity.

CUT

 

 

The cut of the Diamond determines its brilliance and how light is reflected off of it. Essentially, the better a Diamond is cut, the more sparkle and fire it will have. All Izzy Atelier Diamonds are sourced to ensure the best quality cuts.

The cut of a Diamond can also refer to the shape of the stone. The round brilliant cut is the most popular cut of diamond, but variations include oval, pear, cushion, princess or emerald, depending on personal preference. COLOR

 

 

When talking about white Diamonds, the less color the better. The closer a Diamond is to being ‘colorless’, the rarer and more valuable it is. Grading of colors is based on a scale from D-Z, with D being colorless and the rarest, and Z having a yellowish tint.

All Izzy Atelier Diamonds are sourced to have the best color quality for your specific project.

 

CLARITY

 

 

Diamond clarity refers to any inclusions the stone may have. Almost all Diamonds have tiny imperfections which are graded according to the visibility of these characteristics under high magnification or the naked eye. Grading ranges from flawless (no visible or internal imperfections) to slight imperfections, to imperfect.

Izzy Atelier works with Diamonds that are eye-clean and VS clarity or higher.

 

CARAT

 

The carat refers to the weight of a gemstone. One carat is equal to 0.20 grams. Larger Diamonds are rarer than those of smaller carat weight and size. However, taken by itself, carat weight does not determine the value of a Diamond. Cut, clarity, color and carat must all be considered when determining the quality of your Diamond.

All Izzy Atelier Diamonds over 0.5 carat come with a certification that verifies the origin and specifications of your diamond(s) cut, clarity, color, and carat size.
